Beer lovers unite, for this week the conference that brings craft brewers from across the nation (and the world) takes place at our own Denver convention center. I had an opportunity to attend last night as a guest of a a friend who makes custom taps. That’s right, they hand craft those beautiful taps that you see at all your local brew pubs. Not a bad job.

The conference this week brings together Craft Brewers from across the world and all those supporting industries that support them. There will be label makers, bottlers, ingredient providers, marketers, tap makers and more.

We wanted to make sure to share this because Denver is a thriving city full of those who dream of opening their own craft brewery, and those who already have. Denver has so many great reason to open a craft brewery. Our commercial rents are so reasonable, at least in comparison to cities like Chicago, Boston, New York and others.  Plus with the expected population growth here in Denver combined with our fun loving adventurous spirit it seems the market receives new brew pubs with open arms.  with all the new apartments, condos, lofts being built in LoHi, Union Station, Jefferson Park, and more there are more than enough choices for great blossoming neighborhoods to select as your starting point.  If you have questions about these neighborhoods for your own business plan feel free to contact anyone on the Denver Urban team.

The Berkeley and West Highland areas have certainly been growing over the past few years. Tennyson Street got a major facelift including new planters, lighting, and a more walkable streetscape. It was no small project and approximately $2.1 million dollars was allocated to Tennyson Street between 38th and 44th Avenues.

Berkeley and Tennyson street is the home of great restaurants, pubs, galleries, and the Tennyson Street First Friday Art Walk.  When clients ask about up and coming neighborhoods that offer character, charm, and walkable amenities Berkeley is one to check out.

Following in the footsteps of the Lower Highlands which claimed a boom in Breweries (Prost, Ale House at Amato’s, Denver Beer Company) the Berkeley area now has a new Brewery of its own.   Tennyson Street now offers it’s local residents the frothy treats of Da Steeg Brewing.  Da Steeg Brewing is a micro brewery in the Highlands providing quality craft beers to the Metro Denver beer enthusiasts.

Now there’s no sign above the door, just an image of a Belgian Style Beer to tempt you in the door.  Today is their grand opening and these are the ales they have lined up

Beers on Tap for Friday’s Grand Opening:

• Pomegranate Acai Wheat 5.5% ABV
• English Mild on Nitro 5.1% ABV
• Imperial Pumpkin Ale 11% ABV

• Friday, Feb 1st: 4 PM – 10 PM Grand Opening
• Saturday, Feb 2nd: 4 PM – 10 PM
• Sunday, Feb 3rd: 3:30 PM – The end of the Super Bowl + 1 hour
