The Rooftop at Coors Field Launching for Opening Day 2014

Colorado Rockies New Rooftop Deck Bar is OPEN

Today is OPENING Day and while everyone is always excited for this city of Denver Tradition today’s event has a new venue that fans are buzzing about.  After watching the local bar scene throughout the Ball Park neighborhood thrive with their rooftop decks, games, fire pits and more the Colorado Rockies decided to do one better…. a rooftop bar INSIDE the ball park.   The new venue offers cabanas, a fire pit, comfortable couches and chairs, and more.   It is free to get into the new Rockies rooftop with your game day ticket and general admission is available for those who just want to come in for some game day camaraderie.

The new Rockies Rooftop Deck opens 2 HOURS before game time and for todays opening day game, which will be the opening day for the Rooftop Deck Bar as well, we can well imagine that the lines will be down the street.  So if you failed to score a Rockies ticket and plan to score a seat you might want to think about getting a move on.  It is the Buzz of Denver.    If you do go early you can look forward to batting practice drink specials including $3 Coors and Coors Light or $6 craft beers.

The video above shows some Rockies Rooftop Deck being built and here are just a few facts from MLB.com.

The Rooftop is a new 38,000 square foot destination constructed in the Upper Right field deck, providing stunning panoramic views of Downtown Denver and the Front Range. Tavern Ballpark and the CHUBurger Colorado Craft Casual Grill are two premium bar/eateries featured in this two-tiered area. Fans will also enjoy an urban garden setting, VIP Cabanas, numerous televisions and live pre-game entertainment.

Gates A & E are open 2 hours prior to scheduled first pitch, the same time The Rooftop opens. Gates B, C, & D are open 1 ½ hours prior to scheduled first pitch. Otherwise, guests can access The Rooftop from anywhere in the ballpark.

For those of you who have the day off to enjoy the game have fun and don’t forget to enjoy responsibly.   It’s just one more reason we love having light rail throughout our city.

Or you could choose to live in the Great Denver Ball Park Neighborhood and walk to all the games.
